Carnage #3 Marvel Comics
Carnage #3
Marvel Comics

If you think Carnage #3 is just an excuse to show a book-long fight between Carnage/Cletus Cassidy and Man-Wolf/John Jameson, you would be right. And ain’t it grand?

After FBI Special Agent Claire Dixon corrals Carnage in an abandoned mineshaft, securing him may be harder than planned. Her secret weapon is Jameson. Let the mayhem begin! Her double secret weapon is Eddie Brock/Toxin, who’s just itching to let out the symbiote. And there’s a wild card unknown to both sides pursuing its own agenda.

Carnage #3 most valuable player award must go to artist Mike Perkins, having a style similar to the great Bryan Hitch. It’s page after page of fantastic, beautiful and graceful figures maiming each other in a ballet of butchery with neither Carnage nor Man-Wolf gaining the upper hand.

The mysterious ending of Carnage #3 hints at something deeper, something horrific that beckons us to read on. Carnage is a memorable character and it’s impressive to see Marvel put the show in the hands of real talent. And from the writer who killed Spider-Man’s gf you know things are going to get bloody pretty quickly.
