Okay for Leaving Megalopolis: Surviving Megalopolis #2 it may well have been done before and will no doubt be done again, but seldom has the age-old question:  What would happen if all the superheroes turned evil? been tackled with such style than it has in Leaving Megalopolis: Surviving Megalopolis #2.

That is the premise that Gail Simone explores here as an evil force erupts from the ground turning all the caped heroes of Megalopolis, the greatest city in the world, into homicidal maniacs. Do you really need any more detail that that to make you read Leaving Megalopolis?

Okay, how about the fact that Gail Simone is a veteran writer of Birds of Prey, Batgirl, Red Sonja, Deadpool and Wonder Woman? This writer knows her stuff and demonstrates ability here with aplomb. With Megalopolis quarantined, a team of specialists is hired to go back in and rescue billionaire Simon Valiant but it seems two of their number have an agenda all their own.

Meanwhile in Leaving Megalopolis: Surviving Megalopolis #2, the only hero not affected by the toxic force, the non-super-powered Crimson Shadow, has a date night from hell with his now insane girlfriend Southern Belle.

For long time comic book fans, in Leaving Megalopolis: Surviving Megalopolis #2, can play ‘spot the more famous hero Crimson Shadow was based on’ and brand new readers can just enjoy the wonderfulness of it all. If Leaving Megalopolis was any better it would be illegal!
