Nutmeg #8 Action Lab Entertainment
Nutmeg #8
Action Lab Entertainment

Rest assured gentle reader, there is no profanity or adult content in Nutmeg #8. Still with me? Good. A rating system can actually be a two-edged sword and it’s a brave move on Action Lab Entertainment’s part to nail their colours so visibly to their masthead.

Since Action Lab Entertainment system covers everything from suitable for all to extreme violence and nudity it’s a definite statement to provide the widest range of comic book products to cater for all types of reader and more power to them I say.

For me, Nutmeg #8 is a little mild, but then, I’m not the target readership. A girl gang called the Patty Cakes goes on a shoplifting spree and Cassia is making a play to take over the leadership of the gang from Saffron. Poppy, who seems to be Nutmeg’s main character, has little to do this issue except look grumpy. Add in an ecological subplot and something fishy going on with those wholesome all natural brownies and you have a non-offensive, girl power tale that trots along quite nicely.

Personally, I’m a Zombie Tramp man through and through but this is a nice addition Action Lab Entertainment’s growing stature and Nutmeg #8 deserves its place on the racks.
