Aquatic heroes just don’t come any finer and Abe Sapien #36 sees the series finale of Abe’s quest to discover his connection to the forces threatening to destroy the universe.

Standing in his way is the two-hundred-year-old necromancer Gustav Strobl who has sacrificed his humanity to become the ultimate Icthyo Sapien (that’s what Abe is, in case you didn’t already know!) which makes him bigger, stronger and uglier that our merman hero and most definitely out for blood. Abe Sapien is not the sort to give up without a fight though and Strobl’s deranged desire to be the new Adam who ushers in a new race of man leads to the final confrontation between Abe and Strobl which is both bloody and brutal.

This clash has been a long time coming and, quite rightly, it takes up the majority of space here but also within the pages of Abe Sapien #36, a wise man says: ‘Every day the world ends for someone’. Will today be Abe’s turn to die? And if he does, will the world survive his passing? No spoiler alerts here, you’ll just have to read Abe Sapien #36 and find out for yourself.
