Robyn Hood: I Love NY #8 Zenescope

Robyn with a “Y”, so it has to be a girl, right? Robyn Hood means arrows, so think of Green Arrow with a sex change and a massive injection of babe-ness and you’re on the right track with Robyn Hood: I Love NY #8.

Robyn Hood is the third in Zenescope’s triumvirate of major female characters, making Robyn’s BFF’s Liesel Van Helsing and Angelica Blackstone. All that I can buy and even applaud, but what’s with this “I Love NY” motif?

I almost passed on this one, Robyn Hood: I Love NY #8 sounds like something that should be pitched at precocious eight-year-old girls. According to the blurb, Robyn Hood: I Love NY #8 is the story of a girl and her love affair with the greatest city on earth. Oh, get real. It’s an action-packed, girl-power, super-charged slugfest and a pretty darn good one at that.

Another finely tuned piece in the multi-title puzzle that is Zenescope’s realms of power epic, Robyn’s big bad – in Robyn Hood: I Love NY #8 – is a Supra-Neutralizing Astral Reaper, or Snare for short which must be the most tortured acronym this side of S.H.I.E.L.D whatever the heck that stands for these days!

Anyway, the Snare looks like a badly sunburned cowboy, talks like a Game of Thrones reject and is on the hunt for Highborn targets, specifically, Robyn Hood. Together with her friend, Masumi, Robyn finds this is one Snare that is not so easy to get out of!

At battle’s end in Robyn Hood: I Love NY #8 there’s a big reveal that I won’t tell you about, but it does set us up nicely for the next instalment of the Lincoln green lycra-clad arrow slinger that you would be foolhardy to miss.
