Spell On Wheels #4 of 5 Dark Horse Comics

The title kind of says it all. Spell On Wheels #4 is the kind of punning nomenclature (see, I can use big words, and I do know what they mean!) which typifies this sort of soft-core supernatural output.

If you’re into Buffy but The Exorcist not so much, this is probably your type of magical catnip. Trying hard, but not too hard, to shake off comparisons to Charmed, Spell On Wheels #4 is the tale of three young female witches, Claire, Andy and Jo, who are on the hunt for some magical supplies that have been stolen from them.

The search, in Spell On Wheels #4, takes this group to a cabin in the woods where they meet the nicest, sweetest, most considerate Goat Man imaginable. Yep, it’s that kind of story. He may be the horniest (literally) choice for a prom date, but Claire takes a shine to him anyway especially when he helps them figure out that the person behind their troubles in none other than (gasp) Claire’s ex-boyfriend!

Sorry, should have said about the spoiler alert but it’s not too much of a leap for a story that is light on menace and heavy on teenage hormones but only in a safe 1950’s John Travolta/Olivia Newton-John in Grease sort of way.

If you like your magic sweet not sour, be sure to check this out Spell On Wheels #4 before the final instalment.
