Grimm Tales of Terror #2 Vol. 3 Zenescope

Cadaver Arm’ is the little bit on the nose title of Grimm Tales of Terror #2 – Volume 3 but anyone who has ever been the victim of a sadistic and mindless college hazing will get some satisfaction out of this tale of revenge from beyond the grave.

Whilst Grimm Tales of Terror #2 Vol. 3 does nothing to give you faith in the future if the morons displayed here are supposed to be our finest hopes for years to come, it does confirm your worst fears about higher education establishments. Parents beware, college could be detrimental to your children’s health!

The title, “Cadaver Arm”, really says it all and, if you can’t work out the plot from that, then you really need to read more comic books. Grimm Tales of Terror (why is it spelt with a double “m” when it has nothing to do with the TV show, sadly now in its final season?) claims to ‘reimagine the creepy stories you know and love for a new generation of readers.’

But then nostalgia ain’t what it used to be and it’s hard to imagine the tech-savvy kids of today getting much out of this once cutting edge but now fluffily cosy, “good old days”, format even if the women in Grimm Tales of Terror #2 Vol. 3 are wearing more revealing outfits and there is the occasional, shoehorned –in, modern cultural reference to today’s drug culture.

To say that Grimm Tales of Terror #2 – Volume 3 is nice is probably an insult, but if it wants to touch a nerve with a modern audience it should raise its game and be a bit more inventive in the re-imagining stakes.
