Bloodshot Reborn #0 Valiant

Project Rising Sun released millions of the same nanites powering Bloodshot on the population of Manhattan, turning the citizenry into mindless killing machines. As we ponder the question: “would anyone notice the difference, particularly during rush hour?” it seems Ray Garrison aka Bloodshot and the Bloodshot Squad did notice and did something about it.

Crisis averted, Ray, his lady, Magic, and his dog, Bloodhound, can now enjoy some well- deserved R&R, right? Wrong. Ray Garrison discovers domesticity can be even scarier than all-out war as the remaining Bloodshot Squad members get their chance to finally start their normal lives all over again. Just don’t get too comfortable guys because the remains of Project Rising Sun are, well, rising I guess, like a phoenix from the ashes and this time, it’s personal.

Both a coda and an indication of many more intertwined sagas still to come, Bloodshot Reborn #0 is a more sedate, but nonetheless intriguing and perfectly constructed offering from Jeff Lemire and his way of drawing a line under Bloodshot’s previous adventures whilst opening the door onto a whole new vista stretching out ahead of the nanite-powered super-soldier.

Tag along for the ride in Bloodshot Reborn #0 why don’t you? It’s gonna be a blast.
