Vampirella Vol 4 #2 Dynamite Entertainment

In Vampirella Vol. 4 #2, Vampirella has a cute new bob which makes her look younger and sweeter, in a sexy, “I’m gonna cut your head off and spit down your neck” kind of way, which is odd since she’s just woken up from a thousand-year nap. She also has a stylish new outfit which isn’t nearly as iconic or vampish as the old red swimsuit, but underneath, Vampirella is still the same blood-sucking, butt-kicking femme who is most definitely the most fatale of them all that we know and love.

So, in Vampirella Vol. 4 #2 our favourite bloodsucker wakes up in a weird dystopian future where the clown police, and I mean that literally, are here to make sure everyone has fun with a capital “F” and all everyone wants is to be good so that they can attain the Afterlife.

Vampirella befriends mild-mannered Vicki Vincent and her feisty feline companion Grit. Cue clown brain cocktails and choirs of angels in what is possibly the most madcap adventure yet for our favourite female vampire. Cracking cover (there are several, so take your pick) but Jimmy Broxton’s interior art is a little subdued considering the extravagance of Paul Cornell’s plot.

For Vampirella Vol. 4 #2 here is a gal who is at home in any era and any dimension, but this seems like just another day at the office for Vampirella. Although that’s no excuse for not letting the floodgates of your imagination open wide and embracing the madness that’s about to come.

Enjoy Vampirella Vol. 4 #2 whilst it sizzles.
