Heavy Metal announces Day and Date Distribution

 

Heavy Metal Magazine announced today that with the June 27th comic store release of their 35th anniversary book Four Horsemen Of the Apocalypse Book 1: Helldiver (ISBN: 978-1935351-49-8) they will be changing their release policy to Day and Date for all future books.

Digital copies of the book will be available for purchase at www.heavymetal.com. Fans can find a local comic store via the Heavy Metal Comic Shop locator here.

Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse creator Michael Mendheim commented  “With the great reception and fantastic reviews for Book 1: Helldiver we’re excited to bring The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse to digital. Fans can now enjoy the brilliance of Simon Bisley’s awesome and intense artwork in whatever format they desire.”

Heavy Metal CEO Kevin Eastman explained the strategy behind the change, “We have fans all over the world and the demand for digital is overwhelming. It’s not just about releasing new product anymore. The digital platform creates a new playing field. Fans want to be able to see a new product on the release day whether they are near a brick and mortar store or not. Four Horsemen has drawn a massive international appeal and it simply made sense to start the process as it hit stores.”

Book 2: The Chosen in the series is expected this August.
