Disney debuted the teaser trailer for its upcoming Oceanic fantasy adventure Moana during Sunday night’s Tony Awards broadcast. The film will star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the demigod Maui and Auli’I Crawalho as the teenage heroine Moana.
The preview introduces the demigod Maui’s adventurous past as he attempts to impress Moana with his exploits and powers. Maui will act as a guide to Moana as she embarks on a daring ocean adventure to save her people.
The film is directed by Ron Clements and John Musker (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, The Princess and the Frog). The film will also star the voice talents of Alan Tudyk and Phillipa Soo.
Joe Books will be releasing a Cinestory comic this fall.
The movie opens on November 23.
