As you may know, among my various activities, I write the Behind the Scenes feature for Eaglemoss’s Classic Marvel Figurine Collection. If you don’t know CMFC, it’s a biweekly publication with each issue devoted to a single Marvel character and coming with a hand-painted lead statue of the relevant hero or villain. Generally my features focus on the creation of the character.
Eaglemoss also publishes the complementary DC Comics Super Hero Collection. Unfortunately, while the editors wanted me to contribute a similar Behind the Scenes-style column to this, the idea was rejected. Having thought long and hard, I have decided to move the concept forward independently.
That’s a long-winded way of saying that I’m working on Secret Origins which will spotlight not only DC heroes and villains but also many others including some Marvel characters not covered by my Eaglemoss column. I’ll be posting a selection of the features exclusively on the Multiverse website.
Check back next week for the first biweekly instalment. First up will be a concept that’s currently getting a fresh start courtesy of Jamie S Rich and artist Mike Norton in Image’s just-launched It Girl and the Atomics – Mike Allred’s madcap superteam, the Atomics.
