The CW has confirmed that an origin story for Barry Allen as the Flash will feature in an episode of Arrow‘s second season.

Casting for the role of Flash/Barry Allen will commence shortly, and depending on how the episode is received when it airs, The Flash  may become a spin-off series of its own for The CW.
