BBC ONE ANNOUNCES WHO WILL BE FILLING THE ROLE AS THE TWELFTH DOCTOR

In a special live broadcast, the BBC announced on Sunday night that the role of the next Doctor in BBC’s Doctor Who would be played by Peter Capaldi.

The unveiling of the next Doctor was made during a special live television event on BBC One last night, after much hype and speculation.

Widely regarded as one of the biggest roles in British television, Capaldi will be the Twelfth Doctor and takes over from Matt Smith who leaves the show at Christmas.
