A New Series That Will Explore What Nurtures Serial Killers
What if someone from your home town turned out to be a serial killer? What if sixteen people did? Joshua Williamson (GHOSTED, MASKS AND MOBSTERS, Captain Midnight) and artist Mike Henderson (MASKS AND MOBSTERS, Venom, TMNT) will be keeping readers up late at night with a new ongoing serial killer mystery from Image Comics.
Since 1969, Buckaroo, Oregon has been the birthplace for sixteen serial killers and FBI criminal profiler Charles Kohl makes it his personal mission to understand why. But just as Kohl begins to peel back the truth behind why this small Pacific Northwestern town seems to breed some of the vilest murderers America has ever seen, he goes missing. Now the mystery falls to Kohl’s friend and NSA agent Nicholas Finch who must race to put the pieces of the puzzle together that his friend left behind, and do so before the body count gets any higher.
Williamson brings a unique and eerie perspective to the sub-genre of horror that explores serial killers.
“Many years ago when I was an art director I was talking to one of my co-workers when she told me that she had broken up with her boyfriend. In the past she had said things were going really well so I was surprised by the news. She explained to me that her ex-boyfriend’s uncle had been arrested for killing five women. He was a serial killer. I asked ‘But your ex didn’t know, right? He wasn’t a part of it, so why dump him?’ She explained to me, ‘I just can’t be with someone who is that close to something so evil,'” said Williamson. “That always stuck with me. We talk a lot about the families of the victims but never the families of the serial killers. The world they left behind. The family that has to find out that someone they loved was killing people. The harsh truth is that it destroys those families. And I always wanted to explore that.”
