Sex worker Janey Bellehas has been bitten by a zombie client and finds herself enrolled in the legion of one of “the street walking dead”. Although to be fair Zombie Tramp departs the trade pretty quickly.
Plus the Zombie Tramp and a luckless hobo have also acquired a copy of the Necronomicon. So Zombie Tramp is hell-bent on causing as much mischief with it as possible. Oh, that whirring noise? That is H.P. Lovecraft spinning in his grave and not because he can not get a date with Zombie Tramp either.
Ultimately though, it is panel after panel of juvenile, gratuitous violence and unappealing nudity. Writers Mendoza and Martin try to substitute cleverness for personality and fall well short of achieving it. The dizzy heights of “Mine’s bigger than yours” cliché are as good as it gets in Zombie Tramp.
Adult in ambition but aimed at the lowest common denominator; and yes, whist we are all living in the gutter, it is just that some us are looking for a bit more class.
Newsflash. The reviews editor has informed me Zombie Tramp #11 makes him feel like a very unhappy Hooker.
