All we want is world peace and we’re gonna kill every sonuvagun that stands in our way! Sounds reasonable to me.
That is Toyo Harada’s manifesto speech and his army of super-powered psiots are there to make sure it happens. Of course, if it were that simple we’d all be doing it.
What, you don’t know any super-telepaths who want world domination? You need to get out more. Anyway, our bad guys tough love approach doesn’t go down too well and Project Rising Sun’s response is the gloriously named H.A.R.D. Corps, a group of neural enhanced humans paid big bucks to take Harada down. Tell me again who’s supposed to be the bad guy here?
As P.R.S.’s C.E.O Morris Kozol frets about psionic incursion, in their anti-Harada base of operations his Chief Science Officer, Angela Peace Baingana, aka Broken Angel, that way ever since Baingana was taken over by an extra-dimensional intelligence, continues her experiments in cold fusion.
Kozol gets more and more paranoid as he confronts the potential traitor Gravedog and then things get really weird. Since this issue is titled Broken Angels part 1 you can probably guess where this is heading.
Smart, techno-babble rich, with a touch of humour to take the edge off the tension. Root for whichever side you want in Imperium #5 the battle lines are being drawn.
