CAPTAIN America: The Winter Soldier directors Anthony Russo and John Russo are set to bring Marvel’s patriotic superhero back to the big screen in Captain America: Civil War, which premieres in the UK on April 29 and in the US a week later.
The movie features not only Chris Evans reprising his role as the Star-Spangled Sentinel but also Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man as the two Avengers go head-to-head. Among the heroes forced to choose sides are the Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), the Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), the Vision (Paul Bettany), the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) and War Machine (Don Cheadle).
The screenplay is by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, who wrote the first two Captain America films as well as Thor: The Dark World. It introduces Spider-Man (portrayed by Tom Holland) into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
