What do the following have in common: Teenage female werewolves; Scottish vampires; the Iraq war; Yeti’s; brutal prisons where the inmates are referred to as ‘blood bags’; Dead women of decidedly loose morals? Give up?

Well, they all feature in Wolf #5 Apocalypse Soon Part 1 of 5. If that wasn’t confusing enough, the phonetic Scottish accent is enough to put the wind up your kilt and no mistake.

However, in Wolf #5, beneath all these disparate elements, flashbacks, flash-forwards, changes of locations and indecipherable accents is, one hell of a good story trying to surmount these narrative challenges and emerge as a fascinating tale in all its glory.

Maybe, for Wolf #5, if you were in at the start of all this it would make sense but newcomers will need a roadmap, compass and a linguistics app to find their way around. Note to creators: That map, please!
