We all thought Star Wars: The Force Awakens arriving on home video was the biggest news coming out of a galaxy far, far away this week – turns out we were wrong!
Disney and Lucasfilm revealed the first trailer for the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars story will debut Thursday morning (7th april) on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
The announcement was made via a video on the Star Wars YouTube channel on wednesday, and while the 10-second announcement is mostly just the film’s logo followed by “GMA’s,” there is a lone new shot — the first official footage from the upcoming movie — featuring what looks like a brand new Stormtrooper clad entirely in black.
There’s not much to go on here, other than some other Stormtroopers and burning wreckage in the background, but, if you’re like us, it’s worth watching a few more times until we get some real footage.
Directed by Gareth Edwards and starring Felicity Jones, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Donnie Yen, Forest Whitaker, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed and more, “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” opens in the United States on December 16.
