Quick recap: Angelica Blackstones Dad is Hades, the half-vampire, half-god King of the Underworld, her step-mother is monster hunter Liesel Van Helsing, and Angelica herself is half-vampire who makes her living competing in a fight club for monsters. Anyone feel like calling Social Services yet?

When her day job falls through, Angelica is offered a job by a mysterious woman called Jezebel which is good news. The bad news is that it involves murder. In Hellchild: The Unholy #2, we get to meet Daniel Diamond, a deceased lizard worshiping sorcerer who someone is trying to resurrect. That someone is Angelica’s potential target. Along with the razor-toothed Prick (yep, that really is his name) Angelica invades the bad guy’s sanctum and much lizard skinning ensues.

All seems safely, if messily, tied up, but you just know that you can’t keep a good lizard down. Mayhem, madness and magic from the impeccable Pat Shand and the enormously talented Renzo Rodriguez. If anyone tells you the monster genre is dead and buried, just refer them to Hellchild: The Unholy #2.  Monsters rule and their future has never been bloodier. Or in better hands than here!
