X-O Manowar 2017 #1 Valiant Premium

Sound the trumpets and strike up the band, X-O Manowar (2017) #1Is a big, and I mean BIIIIIG new beginning for Valiant’s Roman Empire born, alien abductee, armour bonded powerhouse. I mean, really, how many more life altering, era jumping, catastrophes is Aric of Dacia supposed to suffer through before he can be allowed to grow rhubarb and make scrumpy?

At least one more if the mega re-boot that is X-O Manowar (2017) #1 is anything to go by. Finally free of the X-O Manowar armuor Aric has settled down on the planet Gorin and the simple life of an honest farmer when he is conscripted into an alien army to fight the oppressive Cadmium’s. Don’t you just hate it when that happens?

Despite only having one hand and being drafted into a battalion of cannon-fodder, Aric’s innate warrior skills come into play to make him a force to be reckoned with, bringing him to the attention of the force commander who rewards his bravery with a suicide mission! Gosh darn it, can this guy never get a break? Good though Aric is, he realises that this may be one mission too far unless he does the one thing he desperately does not want to do – bond with the X-O Manowar armour once more.

Pulse pounding alien action from Matt Kindt who takes us deeper into the psyche of the ultimate warrior than ever before. Tomas Giorello gives us glossy landscapes and Kirby-esque battle machines and the whole package is an ideal new start for those not familiar with Aric of Dacia’s previous adventures because the way this is shaping up, X-O Manowar (2017) #1 could go on to eclipse everything that has gone before.
