Robyn Hood #4
Zenescope

Titled “The Curse”, veteran scribe Chuck Dixon serves up part 4 of a six part story arc in Robyn Hood #4 which sees Robyn back in her beloved New York after a “daring and dangerous escape from a sadistic super-max prison”. Boy, turn your back for five minutes and look what happens. Chances are she wasn’t incarcerated for jaywalking but the sadistic bit doesn’t seem to have left any permanent damage because she’s as perky and as unblemished in mind and body (except for that kooky left eye which we’ll put down to a fashion accessory gone wrong and leave it at that) as she ever was.

All of which is just as well because in Robyn Hood #4  Marion Quin wants Robyn’s help to get her friend Sam back to her normal self after a makeover from Hell (and I mean that literally) has left her soul dead. Before Robyn and Marion get into some real soul searching, Marion promises to use her witchy ways to see if Robyn’s latest squeeze is on the up and up and, boy, does that open up a whole can of worms!

Livestock abounds elsewhere as mice, rats, roaches and spiders plus a heavy handed cop conspire to put Sam in even more danger than she already is and nary a single arrow is fired or a bow string twanged in the entirety of Robyn Hood #4!

The next issue of Robyn Hood promises party time Aztec style, so you know you’re in for a treat as “The Curse” barrels on like an express train heading for the buffers. Hold on to your quiver’s because Robyn Hood #4 tips the balance into the downhill run for this particular story arc and, with Chuck Dixon’s hand on the throttle, you know you are in for a thrill ride like no other.

Buckle up buttercup.
