The NYPD haul Robyn in for questioning during a murder investigation. All signs point to foul play involving the city’s most notorious outlaw and sometimes hero. Robyn Hood: I Love NY #6 opens with the interrogation of Robyn, the cop provides her with a piece of evidence from the scene – sparking confusion.

Then Robyn Hood: I Love NY #6 cuts to the next panels, preluding a chase sequence when a young thief steals from a local floral store by tricking the merchant with his powers of controlling and manipulating plants. I found the pacing of this sequence quite good, there were obstacles and good banter – however, it felt rushed when it continues with the interrogation of Robyn on the next page.

There are small breakthroughs in this story, opening up her realisations of what’s going on. The plot overall in Robyn Hood: I Love NY #6, feels like something you could jump right into if you’ve never read a comic book in your life (which I highly doubt) but there are some weaknesses here as well, the action sequences were good – however they felt too short and not very impactful due to that briefness.

For Robyn Hood: I Love NY #6, our tactful hero uses various techniques in taking down her foe, but again – it’s short. From there, it’s filled with a good balance of dialogue, ambiguity and devious plan-making. I’d pick this up for a quick read, but don’t expect a riveting story from just this issue – it’s building up to something bigger and, hopefully, better.
