Preview of new series to run in issue #99
Robert Kirkman series continues strong
The Image Comics/Skybound series THIEF OF THIEVES, Robert Kirkman’s cinematic crime comic has no zombies, no superheroes, and no larger-than-life arsenal — and it has become one of the best-selling independent comics hits of the year. The first three issues are now entering their fourth printings, with the fourth issue not far behind with a third printing.
The miniseries that spun out of Robert Kirkman’s original INVINCIBLE universe, GUARDING THE GLOBE, will be back in September as an ongoing series from Skybound/Image Comics.
On April first at Emerald City Comicon, Robert Kirkman and Chris Giarusso revealed a new project: THE WALKING DEAD for Kids. A panel-by-panel recreation of the original issues using Kirkman’s scripts, THE WALKING DEAD for Kids would be drawn in an art style with kid appeal by G-MAN creator Giarusso.
In INVINCIBLE #89, creator Robert Kirkman changed everything, and fans responded — after hitting stores on February 29, the issue has sold out, prompting a second printing (JAN128085) that will be in stores on March 28, the same day as INVINCIBLE #90.
THIEF OF THIEVES #2, published by Image Comics and on comic book store shelves today, Wednesday, March 14, has sold out at the distributor level. A second printing (DEC118235) will be in stores on April 11, the same day as THIEF OF THIEVES #3.
THE WALKING DEAD #95, in stores on March 28, will have a five-page preview of Terry Moore’s horror comic Rachel Rising, published by Moore’s own Abstract Studio. The trade paperback collecting the first six issues of the ongoing series by the Strangers in Paradise creator, Rachel Rising: The Shadow of Death, will be in comic book stores the same day.
